Mercedes Benz Fashion Week SJ 2017
L'été à Nice
This collection is inspired by the French Riviera during the late 1930's. The 20's had created the new hem lines and art deco glamour. Luxury and simplicity were one and the same and the reaction to the turn of the century discomfort soon had women were starting to wear trousers with the influence of Chanel. The feeling of this collection is of the young and beautiful as they race around the cliffs of the Cote d'azur in motor cars and promenade at Cannes. There is an elegance with ease that was so refreshing for these new women who had started to have a voice and have jobs, fashion had to move with these changes. For the first time day wear was worn up to the cocktail hour.
